The QCD axion is a natural consequence to the Peccei-Quinn solution to the Strong-CP problem and also happens to be a natural dark matter candidate. The first run of the Gen 2 campaign with the Axion Dark Matter Experiment (ADMX) has searched for QCD axions with mass in the few ueV range with unprecedented sensitivity. This talk will discuss how cryogenic operating conditions with ultra-low-noise RF SQID amplifiers enabled this achievement and how they will be used as the search mass is increased. LLNL-ABS-746036.
