Summary

The two main present detector development projects are presented, which is pursued by the RMKI and Eotvos University groups. The HPTD detector is aimed at high momentum particle triggering at ALICE, as a part of the Cherenkov-based VHMPID detector. It requires not very precise but high granularity (two-track resolution) tracking, at small material budget, over many tens of square meters.

The other is a small cylindrical TPC for the NA61 experiment with absorber walls to identify low momentum particles by range and dE/dx measurement. Both projects can benefit from MPGD
gas amplification structures to improve the reliability of the outline.
