Line Management Issues

• Two hirings for librarians in ATLAS / CMS. July 1st and September 1st. Current librarians have been hired.

• Extension for one fellow and two new hires

• IT technical forum presentation on SFT activities

 

R&D activity 18th of May for first set of proposals. Budget envelope is 5M / year for *all* activities. Two more rounds to refine project proposals. 2nd workshop end of September.

Next Wednesday proposals will be presented to get wider feedback.

Report from the LIM Meeting

• Latest version of gcc today

• Almost completed all packages for LLVM (5 missing).

• Complete clang build for 94 release anticipated

• First Ubuntu 18 machine added to cluster, currently used for ROOT test

• Working on deprecating QT WebEngine, but still used by one package that BE need

• 93 patch prepared for ATLAS

• 93a removed from CVMFS because of problems with ROOT. New build ongoing

• Librarians and Integrators Workshop on May 30. Please register!

  • CVMFS 2.5 is tagged. Will go into grid wide testing

  • No news for CernVM

• Simulation

  • New montly development release this week.

  • 10.4patch2 being prepared

  • R&D from Naples being pursued, e.g., training meeting a few weeks ago.

  • PyHEP workshop being organised pre-CHEP; there will also be a Birds of a Feather session on Frameworks (Paolo, Jim, Charles organising).

  • HSF meeting on licensing next week, Wednesday 9 May at 17h.
