Description

Denmark@CERN is a promotion visit organized by BigScience.dk with strong support from CERN. The visit is a service to members of the Danish Big Science network with an ambition of becoming CERN suppliers or of increasing their current business with CERN.

Through this two-day event, Danish companies will get an introduction to CERN, learn how to do business with CERN, and participate in business-to-customer meetings with relevant technical staff members from CERN. At the same time, the promotion visit will raise the awareness of the Danish companies’ skills within CERN. CERN’s procurement department as well as the technical departments, which are directly involved in identifying and selecting suppliers from CERN’s member countries, will be involved in meetings with the Danish companies.

Denmark is contributing to CERN’s budget with approx. 20 M CHF a year (120 M DKK) corresponding to about 1.8% of CERN’s total budget. This membership allows the Danish researchers to be involved in the experiments at CERN but also gives Danish companies the possibility to bid for tenders for supply and service contracts (including R&D collaborations).  Since the first Denmark@CERN event organized by BigScience.dk in 2012, the Danish industrial return has steadily increased but there is still room for improvement and potential for both experienced and new companies to find business opportunities.

The detailed programme and more information about the event are available through this website.
