Description

In order to maintain similar performance (jets, b tagging,...) for the forward and central region in the challenging pile-up environment of the HL-LHC, ATLAS is proposing a High Granular Timing Detector (HGTD) covering the high eta region.

The detector concept and its expected performance will be first discussed with greater emphasis on the most critical R&D on sensors and electronics with recent laboratory and test beam results.
