Have we discovered sterile neutrinos?

This talk will present recently updated electron neutrino appearance results from the MiniBooNE experiment. The results will be discussed within the context light sterile neutrino oscillation interpretations, and compared to other experimental results in order to elucidate a "global sterile neutrino picture". The talk will conclude with prospects of future measurements at upcoming accelerator-based experiments, in particular MicroBooNE and the Short Baseline Neutrino Program at Fermilab.
