Description

The study of CP violation, which in the Standard Model occurs through the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) mechanism, is a central topic in flavour physics. The phenomenon is driven by interference, so multibody hadronic decay modes, in which different amplitude contributions can interfere in a way that varies across the phase space, are a particularly promising area to study CPV and search for new sources of CPV beyond those expected in the SM. Studies of the resonant structure itself can also shed light on the QCD processes involved. In this talk, we present an overview of the latest results from the LHCb collaboration on three- and four-body hadronic decays of $B$, $B_s$, and $D$ mesons, including the large S-wave contribution seen in $B^{0}_{s} \to K^{0}_{S} K^{\pm} \pi^{\pm}$ decays, and the first observation of CP violation in angular distributions of vector-vector final states.
