Travel

By air:

By far the closest airport is Geneva airport which has many international flights per day. The workshop venue as well as the city centre are ~30 mins from the airport with public transport*. An alternative is Zurich airport, keep in mind however that it takes an additional 3 hours by train to reach Geneva from there (train tickets cost around 80 CHF).

Travel to conference venue:

Travel to the conference venue by public transport is relatively easy from most of the city. Tram 15 stops 2 mins walk from the Campus Biotech. The tram also passes both the main train station (Cornavin) and Plain Palais (where most of the hotels are located). The stop is Maison de la Paix.

The second option is to take bus 1 or bus 25 (both also stop at the train station and around Plainpalais) at get out at the stop Mines which is right next to the entrance of the Campus.

Free public transport in Geneva:

It is useful to know that during your stay in Geneva public transport will be for free as long as you stay in a hotel in Geneva. First a free public transport ticket valid for 1 hour can be picked up at the airport. There are machines at the end of the luggage pick-up area just before going through customs, the machines have just 1 button and will give you the ticket valid for buses, trams and trains inside of Geneva. When checking into your hotel you will normally receive a free public transport pass for the duration of your stay, if they don't offer it directly just ask for it. There is therefore no need to buy any public transport tickets!
