- a new CMT version v1r21 has been released. Hubert has already done some checking and its working for him in all configurations. The major advancements he mentioned was a checking of package version information in the order "version directory" -> version.cmt -> "version info in requirements". If those are not coherent CMT will complain. Another important feature was the inclusion of the "container package", i.e. the name of this package can be retrieved generically. In AA this version together with a patched version of tbroadcast (2.0.8) will be given a try in the nightly builds -> action Stefan

- LCG 56f has been released. The trigger for this configuration was a POOL patch release. With it came some updates of AA projects. Atlas is currently validating the release. So far all seems to be fine.

- LCG 58b. A problem with CORAL/LFC was spotted in this release. Several workarounds within LHCb and CORAL are currently being tested. This may lead to a new LCG configuration release. Followup needed by Andrea/Alex, Marco Cl., Jean-Philippe Baud -> action Andrea

- fastjet 2.4.2p1, for the windows version we will need a tester -> action Hubert
  - Hubert has asked for it, Hubert forwarding it to me - no news , Emil confirms its working for Atlas
- problem with slc5 runtime environment, Stefan will provide a test and provide it to Hubert -> action Stefan,Hubert
  - this needs more thinking how the fix can be easiest applied, the problem is that a disambiguation of the build and runtime environment would be needed for a clean fix.
- Hubert reported that some tarballs still contain tar.gz and rpm files, these have to be excluded from the AA provided tar files -> action Stefan - done
- There is the question whether we should embark on full support for python 2.6. In order to help setting right priorities this question will be put forward to the AF -> action Stefan
  - The question has been forwarded to the last AF. Experiments will see whether this is feasible and report back in this weeks AF.
- a fastjet version with several plugins has been built, i.e. 2.4.2p1. We will need some checks by users if those builds are properly done -> action Emil - done this works ok
- The proposed splitting of the LCG_Settings package into several sub packages is pending, Hubert will send around the current state of his proposal -> action Hubert
  - Hubert will forward the current state of his proposal to the LIM list
- mysql version upgrade, one problem on windows can be solved by upgrading to version 5.1.45. The question was raised if at the same time we can drop mysql++ -> action Andrea done
  - forwarded a mail to LHCb - no formal reply so far. For Atlas Elisabeth replied, not nice to remove it. Minerva is using it. CMS online is using it. -> action Andreas
  - > move to 5.1.45 -> action Stefan

Persistency
---

- libaio: In order to fix an unresolved dependency of the oracle 11 client package on the libaio library. This lib was copied directly into the package lib dir as it was not guaranteed that the lib was available "by default" on slc4/slc5 systems. On the longterm it would be better to satisfy this dependency by other means. One way are "compat packages" e.g. used by LHCb (this is included already) or the "Grid meta rpm" for which Stefan will contact Oliver Keeble -> action Stefan - done in the meantime and included for next release.

- Grid setup of LCGCMT packages. Andrea was setting up the Grid environment through LCGCMT and failed. This is due to the fact that experiments have their own setups of Grid environments. The idea would be to move this knowledge into LCGCMT. Andrea has found also a working setup which would need to be introduced -> action Hubert, Andrea, Stefan

CMS
---

- Andreas remembered that there was one package missing in the Grid meta rpm for CMS. He will find the package and forward the info. -> action Stefan - done in the meantime, the package was glibc-devel
- CMS will build a special release based on CMSSW 3.6.0 with ROOT 5.26+patches for testing the ROOT schema evolution features.
- In order to validate new features / packages a set of new nightly builds will be setup, e.g. to test gcc 4.5, new version of boost, validation of AA nightly builds, ROOT 5.26 patches, etc.

LHCb
---

- Hubert requested a new build of gcc 4.3.2. The current one has a deficiency when running on a node with slow or not working afs, there are some locale dependencies pointing back into afs, and gcc times out. A new gcc 4.3.2p3 has been provided and is currently being tested in the concerned Grid site -> action Hubert
- Marco Cl. requested to add new python packages to the newly introduced common python packages in LCGCMT, i.e. storm and jason (object relation mapper) -> action Stefan

Atlas
---

- Tested new cmt version in nightlies, 15.6.9 to be built next week with new cmt.
- Several weeks a distcc problem because of new Gaudi version, macro removed in GAUDI for distcc. LCGCMT 56e got fixed by CL

- A prototype release of a subset of AA packages has been prepared for the PH/TH group. The deployment of these packages follows a "flat structure", i.e. all packages are available on the same level. This removes the necessity to have a configuration management tool in order to use the software packages. The users feedback has been very positive so far.
