New 1st Splitter being designed

New part after 600m of TT21

  • No space for BSGV.220075 - SEM

BDF line requirements

  • 6 new profile and position monitors in existing TT21 (in 4 different locations)
  • 10 new profile and position monitors in new BDF line (in 5 different locations)
    • 10 measurements per spill - 0.1 Hz
  • 1 Full 2D monitoring, screen-type
    • In new line before dilution magnets
  • 1 beam current monitor
    • In new line before dilution magnets
  • A target beam monitoring system
    • Can be in vacuum
    • Placed at suitable location after the dilution kickers where dilution pattern can be resolved wrt beam size
  • Beam loss monitors, 9 in total
    • Needs to be interlocked with 10ms reaction time

To do by ABT:

  • Specify explicitly where position is required & where beam profile is required
  • Add beam size at each location in table of requirements
  • Add expected vacuum level in the line
  • Resolution required on 2D monitor & furthest location from target where this could be placed

To do by BI:

  • Cost estimate ASAP (Rhodri)
    • Base on SEM, BTV, BSI, BLM
  • Manpower estimate not required for the moment
  • Write-up for BI contribution using OVERLEAF
