Bulk-Brane interactions from constrained superfields
by
The schedule for this Journal Club on String Theory will be as follows:
1) The latest news in the world of strings
Please bring recent papers that caught your attention and briefly summarize motivations, methods and results.
2) "Bulk-Brane interactions from constrained superfields"
discussion led by Panteleimon Tziveloglou
Abstract: We use constrained superfields to derive the coupling of an N = 2 hypermultiplet with the DBI theory of 1 linear + 1 nonlinear global supersymmetry. This is a field theory construction of the Lagrangian that describes the interaction between Maxwell brane fields and the universal hypermultiplet, in the limit of decoupled gravity. Both the dilaton dressed DBI and the CS terms - 'including' the 4-form - are obtained. The theory enjoys some interesting features, including a super-higgs mechanism without gravity.
