Morocco-ICTP HEP seminar series

Europe/Zurich
Description

Seminar talk by Prof. Jonathan R. Ellis

Abstract:

What to look for and how? There are many motivations for physics beyond the Standard Model, including the instability of empty space, the origin of matter, the nature of dark matter, the naturalness of the electroweak scale and quantum gravity. The Standard Model Effective Field Theory is one way to look for new physics, supersymmetry is still my favourite candidate. I will discuss the prospects for finding new physics at the LHC and future colliders, with particular focus on the Future Circular Collider project at CERN.
