Applied Antineutrino Physics 2019 (AAP 2019) Announcement

The 15th International Workshop on Applied Antineutrino Physics (AAP) will be held on the South Campus of Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) in Guangzhou, China. This years workshop will be extended to two days and a half, from Dec 5 to Dec 7, 2019. We have also added the 4th day, Sunday Dec 8, 2019, as an optional excursion to the nearby high-energy physics facilities, the Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment (Daya Bay) and the PMT Characterization Station for Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO).

AAP series have been focusing on applications of neutrinos such as nuclear reactor monitoring, nuclear safeguards, nonproliferation, geophysics, far-field detection of nuclear reactors and relevant technological developments for neutrino and/or rare events detection. With the recent reactor antineutrino anomaly (RAA) and the spectrum discrepancy, together with the global energy and nuclear safety concerns, this field has been growing fairly rapidly. Promising results from increasing number of experiments have been published recently. To further encourage junior peoples participation, in addition to oral presentations, we will also organize a poster session. Please indicate your intention while you register.

SYSU is one of the leading universities in China. Taking the advantage of the announcement of the Outline Development Plan for the Greater Bay area, conventionally known as the Pearl Delta, the university is expanding further to build a new campus in Shenzhen, on top of the 4 campuses in Guangzhou and Zhuhai. We are developing more disciplines in applied sciences. The university is committed to stay open to the world and to support both fundamental and applied researches that will eventually benefit the world. We invite all colleagues working on the subject and related fields to join us for this workshop and we kindly ask you to register at your earliest convenience, https://indico.cern.ch/event/833568/.
