We will use a portable, compact and complete system for microstrip sensor characterization using the same sensor and readout electronic of those used in the LHC experiments. In the demonstration, the student will be introduced in the basic concept of microstrip detectors:
- Pedestal, common noise and electronic noise,
- Signal extraction from raw data, S/N, charge sharing and cluster formation,
- Depletion voltage and Charge Collection Efficiency
- Probing Strip structure of the detector.
- Spatial resolution (binary vs analog readout)
