From Pb+Pb to photon+Pb collisions: Understanding the Quark-Gluon Plasma with Flow Measurements from ATLAS

Description

Angular correlations measurements have long been used to understand the properties of the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) created in heavy ion collisions.  Over the last several years such measurements have also been used in pp and p+Pb collisions to investigate whether a QGP is created in those systems as well.  New measurements from ATLAS, including those using particles from the decay of heavy mesons and in photo-nuclear collisions, are providing new information about the transport properties of the QGP and the conditions under which this matter can be created.  This talk will discuss recent measurements and their implications on our understanding of the QGP.
