Description

Researchers spend a significant fraction of their time on communication tasks, e.g. preparing journal papers, internal reports, theses, lectures, posters and research proposals. However they often lack formal training in these tasks.

In this short tutorial, Reuven and Edith Boxman will share their experience and provide practical tips to convey your research work more effectively and efficiently to colleagues.

Ray and Edith have collaborated in presenting short scientific writing courses and tutorials for the past two decades, and together wrote the text book Communicating Science: a practical guide for engineers and physical scientists.

They run at CERN a short course on Scientific Writing (4 half days), highly recommended for STEM graduate students and early stage researchers preparing their doctoral thesis and/or publications in scientific journals.

Coffee/tea after the tutorial
will give the opportunity for participants to continue discussions.
