1) The latest news in the world of strings. Please bring recent papers that caught your attention and briefly summarize motivations, methods and results.

2) Higher Spin Gauge Theory and Holography: The Three-Point Functions. Discussion led by  Ioannis Papadimitriou

Abstract: I will discuss the paper 0912.3462 of Giombi and Yin, which provides considerable evidence for the holographic duality between Vasiliev's minimal higher spin theory in AdS_4 and the free and critical O(N) models in three dimensions, originally proposed by Klebanov and Polyakov.
