"The preparatory study of the BDF facility is now mature and a decision should be taken on its implementation following this Strategy update." (ESPPU briefing book)

In this workshop, the physics case, the status and the future prospects for the proposed Beam Dump Facility (BDF) at the CERN SPS and the proposed SHiP experiment are discussed.

Current activities of German groups in SHiP and possible opportunities for new groups are presented.

The BDF is designed as a multi-purpose facility. The discussion includes a possible high-sensitivity search experiment for tau lepton-flavour violation  (tau-->3mu and other decays) and charm physics opportunities.
