Logging DB update (Jakub)

  • Expect to decommission CALS by end of LS2
  • Operational data extraction (timber-like) available during Q1/2020
  • So far new variables to be requested (Excel) in CALS (migration to NXCALS later)
  • Access rights to modify/delete variables to be decided (person/e-group per group?)
  • NXCALS snap-shots (only used by BE-BI) yet to become available (can alternative be found?)
  • Question about LDB (forever) / MDB (short-term) storage unclear (will be possible to reduce data at extraction)
  • Idea to launch (NX)CALS user community meetings launched.
  • Use of UCAP under consideration for analysis (https://wikis.cern.ch/display/UCAP/Unified+Controls+Acquisition+and+Processing+Framework+Home)
  • Proposal that Chris/Jakub be kept informed of OAF developments

OAF update (Manuel, Sara, Aleksander)

  • Reminder of why we do this (too much data to trail through manually - need alarms)
  • Problem of existing report format (pdf)
  • New web-system based
  • Python analysis can be standard (min/max value checks) or user specific code (Python)
  • Similar checks being done by TE-CRG and TE-ABT
  • Documentation for existing system to be reviewed (some can be found here: http://bewww/~bdisoft/bi_report/)

BTV electronics renovation (S. Burger)

  • Explain reasons to renovate (BTVI card exists since 15 years, move to digital cameras)
  • Control of lamps, filters and screen still required (drivers)
  • Move away from BI Wiener crates to standard BE-CO ones (ELMA ++)
  • Will require ~40 VME crates (BE-CO to be warned about expected delivery dates). BI-BL expected to take over the old type-B crates as they require P0
