TTC and/or white-rabbit as transmission protocol

  • Final choice not yet made (WR will provide more options but will require more work)
  • BE-CO to estimate the jitter performance for WR (TTC gives ~100 psec)

BST master hardware and firmware

  • A new master module could be implemented based on the new 'SVEC carrier'
  • A detailed study of requirements is needed during 2019
  • Optical fibre from SPS BA3 to CCR has been requested (used with existing CTG-BST)

BOBR replacement with BI specific requirements (hardware and firmware)

  • Work on-going for RF (SPS low-level) expected for Summer 2019
  • Priority for BE-BI to not rely on BOBR after LS3 (major systems on DAB until LS4)
    • Will require ~100 modules (BPM/BLM)

Plans for moving on from where we are now (lab / SPS / LHC)

  • Update for BST receiver expected during 2019
  • Decision whether to combine MTG and BST to be made (BE-CO - G. Kruk) (consolidation request)
  • Javier proposes to use VFC-HD for decoding WR stream to recover turn and bunch clocks. Hope to start towards Q3/2020. This is the use-case where no BOBR replacement is required
