The main goal of this workshop is to bring experimentalists and theorists together to reflect on the current and future opportunities in the field of particle physics. Subjects to be discussed include Higgs, QCD, flavor and BSM physics at the LHC.

The target participants are mostly researchers in Brazil and Argentina directly invol- ved in this field to stimulate close and profitable collaborations for the next decade. While these two countries have the largest LHC communities we still plan to count with some participation from other Latin American countries.

Concerning the specific items to be treated in the meeting, as the LHC experiments (ATLAS, CMS and the LHCb) accumulate data and start planning for the future we would like to pose the following questions:

  • What can be achieved with the existing LHC detectors in the present stage and later at the high luminosity LHC ?

  • What new theoretical ideas have come to the fore with the discovery of the Higgs boson, together with the lack of evidence for the direct production of new particles pointing to physics beyond the standard model ?

  • What is the theoretical precision that can be achieved for the most relevant obser- vables at the LHC?

  • What lessons the flavor sector may be teaching us? What are the challenges from both the theory and experimental sides within the upcoming years?

  • What are the relevant LHC physics issues where our communities can develop a stronger (regional) collaboration?

These are just a sample of questions that should jumpstart the discussion. We believe that from the close interaction between theorists and experimentalists many interesting possibilities might start emerging.

As in the previous edition, Working Groups will be formed: Higgs, QCD, Flavor Physics, and BSM physics at the LHC. The core of the workshop will be held during the first three days (May 11th to 13th), and a fifth Working Group will occur as a satellite meeting during the last two days of the workshop: “Precision Frontier”.

Financial support for lodging expenses can be provided to a limited number of participants.
