1. Production Status Report ( J.Closier )
Joel reported there is currently no MC Production pending the new release of Brunel (~50M events requested after
this). The Reconstruction and Stripping workflows have been modified to open 1 file at a time. Extra timeouts have
been added on the Test system to allow debugging of dcap file access. Testing of Reconstruction jobs at NIKHEF has
started.
Davide Perego's jobs immediately entered the 'Proxy Expired' state, Andrei reported this was because his proxy wasn't
uploaded to the MyProxyServer mechanism. The possibility to upload a 1 year proxy to MyProxyServer should be
investigated. ( ACTION: Roberto ) Testing of GridKa, NIKHEF and RAL is ongoing. Andrei asked to add Lyon to the
list. ( ACTION: Joel ).
Gianluca reported probelms with the gLite RB Tests. Issues after the changes to the MySQL.py class have now been
resolved. Use of the dedicated gLite RB is becoming urgent for LHCb jobs. ( ACTION: Gianluca )
It was decided that LHCb participation in the multi-VO tests will take place after Tier-1 stability issues have been
resolved and data can be read at each Tier-1 site.
2. DIRAC 3 Roadmap ( A.Tsaregorodtsev )
A year has passed since the DIRAC Review and many recommendations were made in the final report. In his slides,
Andrei outlined the methodology for DIRAC3 and proposed the following work plan:
December-January
- Brainstorming session 18-22 December (core developers)
- Workshop late-January (1-2 days to finalise choices)
Feb-April
- (Re)Implementation of whole code base according to newly defined rules
May
- Integration of DIRAC3 system and thorough testing
June
- Roll-out of DIRAC3
3. DIRAC 3 Preliminary Task List ( S.Paterson )
Stuart reported that the DIRAC 3 Task List was made available on the Agenda page. An attempt has been made to
prioritize the Review recommendations and also provide a forum for new ideas via the Request For Comments
category.
All feedback should be directed to Stuart via the DIRAC Developers list. It was decided to maintain the Task List on a
Twiki page ( ACTION: Stuart ).
4. Launching the Dashboard Setup for LHCb ( G.Castellani )
Gianluca has been in communication with the Dashboard developers and reported that the LHCb Dashboard
interface is ready at the following URL:
http://arda-dashboard.cern.ch/lhcb/
Some features were requested during the meeting such as:
- Monitoring of jobs categorised by RB
- Log scale for plots (with linear scale for internal breakdown)
Additional feedback should be directed to Gianluca.
( ACTION: Gianluca )
5. Other Tasks
Data Integrity Tools ( M.Bargiotti )
Marianne reported that a mechanism is in place for missing replicas whereby LFNs are registered and PFNs are
constructed according to SRM. In the case where automation is not possible, the files are marked for manual
intervention. Tests were interrupted during recent power cuts and are ongoing. ( ACTION: Marianne ).
Preparation for the PIt-Castor data transfer tests ( A.Smith )
Andrew reported that Radu's agent can write transfer requests, an XML-RPC service is still to be written for sending
notifications. Full scale tests are planned in April with functionality tests around Christmas. ( ACTION: Andrew )
6. AOB
It was agreed that Stuart would continue writing the minutes of the PASTE meeting.
Andrew presented his slides for the CERN Castor Delta Review, see Agenda page.
Stuart reported that Marco Clemencic was waiting for the v2r12p2 release to perform CondDB tests. The CMT
package fix is now in place, allowing users to ship requirements files with their jobs. Oracle is now added to
setupProject by default for all Gaudi applications.
