Abstract: I will discuss the paper 1001.5028. There, a systematic treatment is given for computing the corrections to the scalar potential of a D3-brane in a warped deformed conifold, the corrections coming from gluing such conifold to a compact Calabi-Yau. The motivation for such computation is to study the viability of a D3-anti-D3 brane system in a warped throat as a model of inflation. The results can be interpreted either in terms of a modified 10d supergravity background or as a deformations of the 4d dual field theory.
