Scientific Programme

In view of the ongoing experimental program at the LHC we are organizing a four days workshop on the theme “Prospects for Charged Higgs Discovery at Colliders” in Uppsala, Sweden 27-30 September 2010. This will be the third workshop of this kind - the first two ones held in September 2006 and 2008 in Uppsala. The plan is to bring together theorists and experimentalists to discuss recent developments regarding charged Higgs bosons and the potential for its discovery at the LHC. The program has been divided into the following tracks.
  • Theory and models

Presentations of new theories and models with charged Higgs bosons, which can be of interest for phenomenological investigations of the potential for experimental searches.

  • Phenomenology and tools

Presentations of phenomenological studies which can be of experimental interest and presentations of new tools as well as updates of old ones of interest for charged Higgs boson phenomenology.

  • Analysis tools and backgrounds

Presentations of experimental results based on physics data of QCD backgrounds, calibration methods based on Standard Model signals, analysis tools, reconstruction efficiencies and fake rates as well as trigger schemes.

  • Search strategies and systematics

Presentations of investigations of the charged Higgs discovery reach of different experiments. Especially the search strategies for light charged Higgs bosons and the associated systematic uncertainties in view of the performance of the detectors, analysis tools etc.
