Description

Numerical Relativity is the art of modelling the strong field, nonlinear regime of gravity that unfolds during the collision of black holes or neutron stars. This regime yields the most energetic gravitational radiation and holds the keys to more completely understanding the properties of the sources with our General Relativity, our standard model of gravity, and beyond.

In this talk I will give an overview of the recent progress in numerical relativity, with special focus compact binaries in extensions of general relativity that enables novel strong-field tests of gravity.
