Present: Damien, Dominique, Gerhard & James.
** Magnet **
- Dominique has developed a design that meets the required specification for the instrument and maintains the same detector to vacuum flange width as the BGI-Horizontal.
- The design includes 5mm of stay-clear between the vacuum chamber and magnet.
- Magnet design will include horizontal shielding plate, but this will not be produced unless required after operational experience with the instrument.
- Magnet will be be installed at PS SS84 January / February 2020.
- Ideally magnet, vacuum chamber and instrument should be able to be installed/removed independently. However, it is accepted that if necessary the vacuum chamber & instrument will be removed to allow for the installation/removal of the magnet.
** Vacuum chamber and Instrument **
- The design based on the BGI-Horizontal provided by Damien is now in the hands of the Impedance Working Group (IWG) for beam impedance studies.
- Action for James: Follow-up with IWG status of study and set date for IWG presentation.
- Current planning:
- End of September 2018: Gerhard will order material for vacuum chambers and flanges.
- End of November 2018: Production drawings ready for comment.
- End of December 2018: Production drawings signed.
- January 2019: Workshop planning.
- September 2019: Delivery of mechanical parts to BI.
- November / December 2019: Test installation of vacuum chamber at SS84.
- January / February 2020: Installation of magnet at SS84.
- April 2020: (Final) installation of vacuum chamber & instrument at SS84.
