LHC-HCG Meeting
Meeting summary
- Comparison with ATLAS/CMS in 4l and Hgg: Generally try to use definitions close to STXS, however some differences in binning and also object definitions at fiducial level (eg. lepton isolation) between CMS and ATLAS.
- Currently ATLAS and CMS are using binning intended for final results - would ideally prefer to include additional (finer) binning in workspace, to be merged for individual publications.
- CMS is agreeable with the 10 GeV bin boundaries at low Higgs pT, no major issues for bins up to 200 GeV, need discussion above that.
- There were a short discussion about differences in analyses such as lepton isolation etc. This is particularly relevant for per-channel combinations. A question was raised as to whether lepton isolation was applied in any previous ATLAS Run1 HZZ measurement, but the answer appears to be no.
- Both experiments to fill as much information as possible on the TWiki page before the next meeting in two weeks. Agreed to start with a small set of variables (pTH, Njets, pTjet, …), and to focus on binning definitions, in particular for HZZ and Hgg.
- Some of the above easy to update, but first need to determine how much can be changed from published analysis - ATLAS to go back to analysts to determine how/if this could be done (also practically given analysts availability)
- Agreed to check with each experiment about sharing un-published technical information (such as variable, binning, fiducial volume etc) for combination discussion. Both experiments indicated this is likely to be OK.
- Should start to discuss potential time scale, prioritized list of combinations, technical exercises if people are available.
