## Participants

Marta, Paula, Nicolas, Michal, Yacine, Patrick, Bernardo, Ruben, Ioannis,Salvador, Marta, Franco, Olivier, Gerard, Yannick, Fred R., Fred

**HEALTH STATUS: Everyone is fine without any COVID-19 symptom!**

## Main points

* **Rules and Staff:**
Now almost all of the members of the TF section are back while on the 6th of July is expected also to work in a percentage of 80-100% on site.

    #### OBLIGATORY steps to return at SM18

    * Online course “COVID-19 - Health & Safety Measures at CERN” which is now available on the Safety Training catalog on CERN’s Learning Hub (https://learninghub.cern.ch) > Catalog: Safety > Domain: Safety and Health (SH).
    * Upload your attestation here : https://cesaam.web.cern.ch/

    #### Documentation:
    * The documentation is a "proof of work", especially for those that are partially working. However, it accounts for everybody!

## Marta's notes

### 1. Update on the SM18:

- Update your EDH status weekly or whenever it needed but always in time.

- **11T long magnet: Postponed**
Problems with the electrical integrity of the magnet, while there are also questions on its performance, which are critical for the magnet itself. Nonetheless, there are under investigation. A realistic test for the LHC with the background circuit has been performed (at 3kV) following a discharge of 900V, which created a quench located at the D1U outer layer. At that rate 2 small voltage drops appeared indicating a QH breakdown and the operation of the QH in open loop. Additionally, the spikes are still present, without though to be impacted by the short circuit state.

    **Summarizing**:
    - **Current status**: There is a problem with the cryo-plant, and thus the magnet test has been postponed. Updating, there is a big pollution in the cold-box and specifically in the filter (Polyamide or oil). The filter has been replaced, with the experts being confident that tomorrow morning the cold-box will be resumed and the cooldown of QXF will be started on Monday.
    -  **Issues**: Spikes, performance, protection, and insulation are the main cons of this magnet.
    - **Goal**: It is a good opportunity to understand the defects of this magnet, and of course to disqualified for any use in the LHC.

- **General**:
    - Crab cavities are probably be at the SM18 next week. There will be a conflict with the RF-cavities which are going to consume big amounts of helium. Anyhow, as it has and will be discussed at the dedicated coordination meetings the planning is progressing successfully.
    - Introduction of Nicolas Heredia (strings).
    - From the organisational point of view, the operation needs to be constant, with high quality and efficient. This progresses successfully! All the operators are up-to-date to pick up from where the rest are left it. Concerning the next week, the horizontal test bench and the cluster D are resuming their activities.
    - **Cryogenics Shutdown**:
        As have been discussed at the coordination meeting, it is not definite for the moment, there are two periods, with the first one around 8/9/2020 for a week and the second one, an extended period at the end of the year .
   - **HTS meeting:**
   There is a discussion concerning the HTS joints that have to be tested, with the old and the new designs. The first joint of the old design is ready to be shipped at SM18 and tested at 80K-300K.
         A. HTS meeting: HTS joints to be tested : new and old designs
   old design is ready to be shipped at SM18 (test: 80K-300K)
        B. Eucard-2 magnets (Feather-like) are still in construction. The forseeing test agenda includes (a) a standalone test (under discussion for October/November period) and (b) an inside the Fresca-II magnet test (under discussion for March next year).
    - Holiday management with those left behind. Please keep the overlap periods as shorter as possible.

### 2. End of contracts:

Several colleagues are finishing their contracts, and thus, a lot of topics (optical fibers, diodes, and more) are under "migration" and exchange of knowledge; while they need to be evolved within the next weeks. For each and everyone, please prepare the final documentation in time. In order to facilitate this work, as a starting point create an one page document with the "to do" list and their status, contact persons, information, storage area, and more. Include also the next steps of your work and what else is pending or on hold. To be presented at the scientific meeting. Additionally, Christian will be back on Monday. For whom it may concerns, please update him accordingly in order to help on a smoother transition.
