Abstract:
This lecture will focus on different types of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGNs). In its first part, it will cover content on what distinguishes the different types of AGNs from each other. The second part will focus on blazars, covering their emission models, highlighting the current challenges with such models and then conclude with how the future Cherenkov Telescope Array in combination with other planned multiwavelength observational campaigns will help resolve some of the currently not well understood aspects of blazar emission models.
