• Reaper1 deprecation
  • Add deprecation warning NOW
  • EOL with Rucio 1.25 (March 2021) ?
  • Do we remove it from the code completely? (I would say yes)
  • If yes, do we rename reaper2 to reaper?
  • Agreed
• Update Language
  • Cannot easily rename exceptions since it breaks backwards compatibility
    • Unfortunately clients check for the Classname strings
  • Suggestion
    • Change all messages and text where possible, leave the exception as is
    • Add a new exception with proper language, add it to the catch cases in the client but do not raise it on the server side yet
      • Give clients a grace period to upgrade
    • With 1.25 remove the old exception completely and only raise the new one
      • Increase the time window and do this with 1.25
      • Discuss within ATLAS at next software week
