Integration update of F2. Moving towards cabling II

Description

The definition of the interface between the power cables and the DFH has become an urgent necessity in order to estimate the cable length needed, which will be the next step. This second step is critical towards the placement of the order of the power cables.

 

We would like to propose a meeting where we can have a discussion about the shape and position of the so called patch panel that will make possible second iteration of the integration.

The goal is to have a model that will allow the estimation of the length of the power cables.

One of the first things discussed was the workflow. The task starts with small meetings inside the group and WP6a to invite later on WP6b and and other groups and departments as EN-EL & EN-CV.

Then, the current integration was reviewed, focusing on the two interfaces:

  • Electrical interface between DFH and power cables, which led to the discussion of:
    • Open point: Function of the box, what to connect and interconnect, to work only as a cable support. There is the option of the bus bars, which should be mechanically and thermally modeled. The option of the bus bars might be too tight in terms of schedule
    • Open point: Modeling of the physical device
    • Open point: Electrical circuits proposed in EDMS#2418464 to be revised.

 

  • Hydraulic interface between DFX and CFB
    • Open point: the hydraulic connection and the splices needed for the test as simple as possible. Design of the short circuits and build the volumes needed. The instrumentation needed for the test (ie. monitoring the short circuits) should be  also defined as soon as posible.

Because of the amount of open points raised, the main actions items to be performed:

  1. Review of the technical spec EDMS #2418464 by WP6a which includes all the open points discussed, targeting the engineering check status within 1 month, and released by that time.
  2. Robin B. will directly contact WP6b to explore the option of using bus bars to connect the current leads of the DFH to the interface.
  3. WP6a will define the conditions needed to host the splices in the DFX sides in order to design the interface between the CFB and the DFX.
  4. Next meeting will include invitees from WP6b
