There is strong interest in having a WLCG workshop in 2022 in hybrid form. Obviously this strongly depends on how the COVID situation evolves. After a discussion with the HSF coordination team, we believe it is a good idea NOT to have a joint HSF+WLCG worship but two separate ones: reduces the # of attendees per single event and simplifies the organisation. We would like to focus the WLCG workshop on the evolutions of the facilities, and how they will support the future workflows and needs of the experiments (LHC, HEP partners and other sciences)
The HSF workshop will likely be in the week that was allocated for CHEP (16-20 May 2022). Options for WLCG could be:
* Mon 23 May to Wed 25 May (26 May and 26 May is Ascension)
* Tue 7 June to Fri 10 June (6 June is Pentecost). Caveat: same week as ALICE week
* Same week as HSF
* Mon 26 to Mon Sep 30
If we agree we should have this workshop, this is then a call for proposals. To be kept in mind:
* would need space for ~150 people (but could end up being lower). Would need to allow some sort of hybrid workshop (with remote attendees)
* would need flexibility (we could cancel last minute depending on the pandemic)
* would need to be reachable in a simple way (near a relatively big airport or reachable by car from a relatively big airport, no tight quarantine restrictions ... I know this is complicated to predict now...)
