Beam Dump Specification.
Giulia has found the original specs, and will check them this week with the aim to circulate to us early next week and update with the new beam footprint.
The original specification was for the 3 & 12 MeV dump. The charge and footprint.
There was a 20Watts power average over 18 months.
Girder design Drawings
Benoit has sent these, also to Dominique Bodart for future bending magnet adaptation.
Building 181 for Tuning
Karl and Dominique have been in contact about the building 181 test area.
The location supervisor (for an RF zone in 181) would be Cristiano Gagliardi .
We consider MSC are informed of the request, and we wait to January to see a response.
Storage Area for old Equipment
Edgar will propose a date to meet next week in Prevessin (e.g. Wednesday).
Benoit: There might be some supports for the waveguide lines - these could also be reused.
The Quad VI is the preferred one (as they are shorter).
Benoit will give the outer dimensions of the quads to Edgar.
Diagnostics
Giulia noted that for the 2013 measurement in the test stand the emittance meter was not used. But it was used for MEBT commissioning in the tunnel.
Giulia will review the experience.
Richard will organize a meeting within 2 weeks and we review the instrumentation with Federico.
Integration
Modulator (ESS) and klystron (LEP) likely to be used are put onto the integration.
Benoit is integrating with the big window.
Karl: Skid - water supply - CV integration is started, and they will discuss with Benoit.
Suitbert: Thinks we can go forward with the second position (with a slim window).
Karl asked Benoit to work on a second position.
Benoit will send a plan view. Richard will look at this on-site.
Suitbert will ask Rolf about the PIMS layout (when this was conditioned in a bunker on-site).
Schedule Questions
Detlef brought up the following questions:
- Can we interrupt any time the source test stand?
- Is the source programme aware and can accommodate? Yes - Giulia is the contact for the test stand.
- Time for modification of the source, and LEBT, time for conditioning of the source?
- How long to install the RFQ?
- How long will we need beam to validate the RFQ?
- How long to revert back to the source test stand?
Its clear a follow up on planning with the source test stand is needed (Richard to follow up).
AOB
Karl noted he will write the safety file for the RFQ tests. Richard asked that early next year we get more feedback from RP on the xrays from the RFQ (measured, but needs interpretation).
