Description
Recently a TPC system has been constructed with double GEM readout for beam monitoring purposes in high-Z mixed nuclear beam. If applied in a "twin" or "tandem" configuration, then the off-time background can be drastically reduced. However, if the detectors are placed such that the drift velocities are perpedicular, then the system drift-velocity calibration becomes possible online without external timing or trigger.
