    The Future Circular Collider (FCC-hh) should collide 50 TeV proton beams
    with a total stored beam energy of 8.3 GJ, a factor 28 higher than what has been achieved in the LHC. This is an unprecedented challenge for the control of beam losses, since even a tiny beam loss risks causing a quench or even damage.
