Traveling to Miami
If you are flying in to Miami then you'll be flying into Miami International Airport (MIA). MIA is located 11.1 miles away from the FIU campus located at 11200 S. W. 8th Street, Miami, FL (see google/maps). Depending on the time of day travel time is anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour on So. Florida freeways (836 and Turnpike). If you encounter rush hour traffic I would take one of the major city streets. So. Florida is layed out on a grid with a reasonable numbering system, at least around FIU, so its easy to find your way around. Consult google/maps or mapquest.com using the campus address provided above.

Driving to Campus
Once  you get to the university you'll proceed to one of the near by parking garages (labled PG-? on the campus map). We will be holding the workshop in the Werheim Conservatory seminar room and in the Physcis Learning Center in the VH bldg (labled VH on the campus map). The Wertheim Conservatory (WC on the map) is east of the ECS bldg and north west of the Physics bldg. (PC).

Additional information on getting to campus including a campus map is available at www.fiu.edu/docs/campus_maps-up.htm

Parking on Campus
You may park in the parking structure labled PG R near by the conference rooms. There should be plenty of parking before 9:00am there for visitors. Pay parking is $6 a day all day long. At the workshop we will be issuing everyone a parking permit. The permit will allow you to park in student parking slots. Please come on by and pick up when you arrive. Student parking lots are adjacent to the PG R garage and elsewhere around campus.
