Please note that CERN applies the mandatory quarantine for anyone returning from a high-risk country, according to the cumulative lists of states and territories defined by its two host countries, France and Switzerland.

This quarantine cannot take place in the CERN hotel in Meyrin.

Schuman Residence in Saint Genis accepts "preventive" quarantines: visitors arriving from a country or area mentioned in at least one of the lists of countries and areas with a high risk of coronavirus infection published by the Swiss or French authorities, and not showing symptoms of COVID19, will be allowed on Schuman site (according to availability).

"Isolation" quarantines for people who are a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case, or close contact, remain not possible.

Exemptions may be granted to vaccinated people, depending on their provenance.

If you come from one of the risk countries (Switzerland) and/or green zone countries (France):

- FOPH list of risk countries (admin.ch)

Then you do not need to go into quarantine upon arrival and you can have the access straight away to the CERN site.

However, if your personal situation is one that requires quarantine (ex. incomplete or unrecognized vaccination schedule, return from an Orange or Red zone or high-risk country), please contact the Service Desk at +41 22 766 7777 or service-desk@cern.ch in order to treat your situation.

You have to contact us if you have any doubt about being eligible to this quarantine, so we can settle you in the building dedicated to self-isolation, and provide details regarding the rules when in quarantine.

Please note that the lists and rules may change before your arrival date. It is important to consult the HSE website and those of the governments of the host countries:
