Description

Positron beam dumps offer a strong opportunity to probe feebly-interacting particles in the sub-GeV mass range with an order of magnitude improvement over existing limits. We explore in details the dominant “resonant” production mechanism and the possible experimental search strategies. The distinct cases of a missing energy search using an active thick target experiment and of a “scanning” strategy with a thin target apparatus will be in particular discussed.
