Fire workshop (on Wednesday 26 Oct. in the afternoon)

In this workshop, speakers will have the opportunity to expose their ongoing projects related to fire safety in particle accelerator facilities. This is meant to be an interactive session where the objective is for the participants to give each other feedback and advice. The speakers will present their current projects and challenges (15min presentations) followed by Q&A (10min).

Additionally, the opening presentation of this session will be delivered by Prof. Jose Torero from University College London, who has been working in many aspects of fire safety engineering for the last 30 years, leading world-known research as well as complex engineering projects.

On top of that, one presentation will be exposed by a member of the CERN staff to re-launch the FCC-FIRIA-Fire-Collaboration. The objective of this presentation is to kick-off again a collaborative and networking framework, where experts working in the fire field can stay connected and updated.

This workshop is an addition to the regular fire safety plenary sessions of ITSF. We welcome everybody interested in the current fire safety projects, as well as everybody who would like to join and participate in the network for fire safety engineers working in particle accelerators.
