FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS

The CHATS-AS 2011 Workshop will be held at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland, on October 12 – October 14, 2011, jointly hosted by CERN and CRPP.

CHATS-AS 2011 will be the ninth in a series of international workshops that have followed the advancements in the state-of-the-art of modeling of superconducting systems, from cables to magnets and power generation and transmission devices, fusion, high-energy physics, and other applications.
The focus in CHATS-AS is on novel principles and tools in engineering design and analysis, as well as their experimental validation.
The CHATS-AS 2011 Workshop welcomes contributions fitting this scope, with a specific interest in the following topics:
  1. Multi-physics modeling of superconducting systems, from the details in a wire or tape to the complexity of a full magnet, covering all domains of mechanics, electro-magnetics, and thermo-hydraulics;
  2. Multi-scale analysis of superconducting and cryogenic systems, and the creation of physics-based models suitable for operation and control.

In the tradition of the workshop, papers submitted will be published rapidly in a special issue of Cryogenics after the standard peer reviewing process.

The local organizing committee is pleased to invite you to participate in and contribute to the CHATS-AS 2011 Workshop. Prospective participants are asked to register to receive further information and details about the workshop, e.g. accommodation and registration fee.
