Description

In the last decades, several simulation tools were created with the objective of analyzing Single Event Effects (SEE). In this sense, Monte Carlo (MC) simulations have been extensively used. Considering some experimental data as a basis, the results of the MC simulations provide the SEE probability for a wide range of particles and energies, which would not be accessible experimentally. Furthermore, depending on the type of analysis, the tool needs to solve complex transport and Poisson equations, making the simulation very CPU/time consuming. Considering that electrical models are extremely important to evaluate the radiation sensitivity of the devices and as they usually are not provided by manufacturers, it is essential to have alternative modeling approaches. This presentation will introduce SEE prediction using the PredicSEE, a Monte Carlo tool based on a simplified electrical model. The objective is to show the accuracy of the simplified model in comparison with experimental data and identify its limitations.
