Description
The first Large-Sized Telescope (LST-1) of the Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA), located on La Palma, has been operational since 2018 and remains in its commissioning phase. Over the past years, LST-1 has delivered a number of significant scientific results, including the detection of active galactic nuclei flares, observations of pulsar wind nebulae and pulsars, the detection of a nova, and searches for gamma-ray bursts. In this contribution, we will present the most important physics results obtained to date and provide an update on the construction status of the remaining three LSTs (LST-2 to LST-4) on La Palma, which is progressing according to schedule. In parallel, construction activities for the first two Large-Sized Telescopes at the CTA South site are also underway. The completion of both arrays will open a new observational window on transient phenomena and enable high-sensitivity gamma-ray astrophysics in the sub-20 GeV energy domain.
