Salient points

1. For the opening talk, we agreed on the following potential speaker in order of preference: George Ellis, Zoe Fisher, Omololu Akin-Ojo, Trevor Forsyth.

2. Obinna will merge the time slots allocated to atomic, molecular and laser physics into one comprehensive session, and will flesh it out with talks and speakers.

3. Early career sessions. Mounia will coordinate the organization of the session on Monday evening (during reception or dinner) on “Beauty of Physics” or “Talk Physics”. She will also coordinate the organization of the Friday afternoon session on “Early career African Physicists”.

4. In early communication before the meeting, Ulrich agreed to organize the session on "Big Detector / Large scale research infrastructure in Africa".

5. In earlier communication, Kétévi asked Uli to organize the session on “Small detector labs / Internet of Things”.

6. We don’t have anybody for the session on “African countries joining and thriving in large international collaboration”. If there is no volunteers, Kétévi (with Benard) will organize this session.

7. Azwinndini will identify someone from the historically Black universities / University of Venda for a talk on renewable energies.

8. Azwinndini will identify someone for the dinner talk. Francisca Nneka Okeke, Patience Mthunzi-Kufa or Tebello Nyokong may be a possibility.

9. Kétévi will try to insert in the agenda time slots for talks on entrepreneurship, economy and science diplomacy. Christine has suggested the speakers; for science diplomacy, other names mentioned are the science ministers of Togo, Benin or Tanzania.

10. A talk about “Physics and climate” is added to the agenda; it is a major topics for IUPAP. Azwinndini will talk to Nithaya Chetty to identify a speaker.

11. A talk on theoretical physics, NItheCS, would be useful. Francesco Petrucione could be a possible speaker; an invitation should be extended to the President of the African Astronomical Society Thabe Medupe.

12. We will make efforts to take suggested speakers from committee members. Kétévi will circulate an updated agenda.

13. There may be a biophysics event in parallel to ACP2023, with shared talks or session with ACP2023. In particular, Lawrence will identify the speaker for “Africa biophysics” in the ACP2023 program.

14. Kétévi will prepare a draft invitation letter for review.

15. The Next meeting will on Tuesday, April 25. Session leaders will be asked to present detailed proposals of their sessions (program and speakers).
