Accommodation

Warning: if you are contacted by a "hotel booking service" purporting to organise accommodation in Sydney on your behalf, please do not respond to it – this is a scam!

Participants will have to book their own accommodation.  You can find a non-exhaustive list of our suggestions below.

On campus: New College

Not a morning person, but don't want to miss the first talk of the day?  At a mere 2 minutes' walk from the conference venue, UNSW's New College offers affordable on-campus college accommodation for visitors.

Beachside: Coogee Beach

Fancy a dip in the ocean at sunrise?  Coogee might be the right option for you then, with several hotels in direct vicinity of the beach.  You can still walk to UNSW from there (about 30-40 minutes, uphill), or catch the 370 bus instead (12 minutes).

Easy walking distance: Randwick

A 15-minute stroll from campus, with plenty of cafés, restaurants and supermarkets nearby, vibrant Randwick has several smaller boutique hotels (see, e.g., here), and is directly connected to Central Station via the L2 light rail line (~20 minutes). See Sydney Lodges for reasonably priced hotels.

Near Sydney Central Station

If you prefer to stay at a central location for quick access to Sydney's main tourist attractions, you'll find plenty of options near Sydney Central Station.  Getting to UNSW from there is easy too: simply hop onto the L3 light rail at Haymarket or Central Chalmers and get off at UNSW Anzac Parade ~20 minutes later.
