Description

Looking for your next position in HEP? Or are you offering a position on an LHC experiment and are looking for suitable candidates? Apply to the LHC Job Matching Event (JMEv) Fall 2023!

The JMEv is organised by members of the LHC Early Career Scientist Fora (LHC ECSF), which comprises the ALICE Junior Representatives, ATLAS Early Career Scientist Board, CMS Young Scientists Committee and the LHCb Early Career, Gender and Diversity Office.

The event offers the opportunity for recruiters and job seekers, who both currently work on LHC experiments, to meet in Zoom sessions moderated either by one or two moderators from the LHC ECSF. All JMEv sessions take place over Zoom to help keep things equal and fair for job seekers.

Format:  Each session begins with an introduction from the moderator to explain the format of the session and to introduce the recruiter. The moderator will then invite each job seeker to present their three-minute-long flash presentations. The rest of the session slot is for Q&A between the recruiter and job seekers, which is moderated to make sure the recruiter asks an equal number of questions to each candidate to help keep things balanced.

Recruiters: are encouraged to participate in two, one-hour-long sessions that are exactly the same in format but are sufficiently spaced out at different times. This is to help enable for job seekers based in different time zones to join one of the sessions offered by an individual recruiter. A single session will have a maximum of eight job seekers to allow for everyone to have enough speaking time. Recruiters are expected to upload slides which provide more information about the vacancy and the research group by October 17th.

Job seekers: can join as many different sessions as they are interested in attending, but only one session offered by the same recruiter. They are expected to modify their registration and upload their 3 minute flash presentation about their work experience by Oct 20th.

Guidance about what recruiters should include in their slides and about what job seekers should include in their flash presentations can be found in the registration forms for recruiters and job seekers, respectively.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with the organisers at LHC-ECSF-JME-Organisers@cern.ch if you have any questions.
