Please read them before attending the workshop.

Lectures

  • We will briefly cover

Basic Quantum Computing (qubits, gates, circuits, measurements, linear algebra, postulates of quantum mechanics), Day 1

Quantum Teleportation and Entanglement, Day 1

Quantum Algorithms (quantum parallelism, Deutsch’s algorithm, quantum Fourier transform, phase estimation, Shor’s algorithm), Day 2

Quantum Simulation (time evolution, variational method), Day 3

  • We will NOT cover

Computational model (complexity theory)

Quantum search algorithms (Grover)

Quantum Hardware (Implementation, noise, error-correction)

Labs (Qiskit)

You will work on real quantum computing problems on your own laptop. Each problem set is related to the morning lecture and will have easy and hard questions. There will be an open question for more challenges.

We work with Jupyter Notebook. Installation of Python and Qiskit is necessary. Please see the official installation guide on Qiskit, https://qiskit.org/documentation/getting_started.html, to install before the lab. If there is any problem, we can also help during the lab.
