The event that will take place on 2nd of February is part of a national
project for the development of STEM and multi-lingual skills of students
and teachers (PNRR). Before the virtual visit, Prof. Pietro Govoni,
researcher of the Physics department of the Bicocca University of Milan,
will give a speech as an introduction to particle Physics and CERN.
The CMS virtual visit will be attended by about 150 students of the last
year of our scientific high school, who had the opportunity to deepen
different STEM subjects during their studies, for instance Maths,
Chemistry, Biology and Physics. Indeed, in their last year they were
introduced with topics highly connected to the CMS, such as magnetic
fields and their interaction with subatomic particles.
