Description

The course introduces the basics of open research (= open science), which is an essential
element of modern, collaborative, transparent, and reliable, research. In this short
workshop, we will discuss problems with the current ways of doing science and uncover
some of the roots of these problems. We will explore the cultural and technological shifts in
the ways research has been performed and rewarded (and what needs to change). Finally,
we will introduce practical strategies that enable more open, collaborative and trustworthy
science. If time allows, we will also talk about why we need meta-research and how it is
done.
