Meeting logistics
Here we'll add some hints for the logistics of the event and helpful information.
Familiarize yourself with the CERN campus
While we'll try to accompany you during your visit for the OpenInfra User Group meeting, it is useful that you familiarize with the campus and where the key places for the day are located.
- Reception: the public transport stops are located in this area, as well as an external car park that can be used by visitors.
- Meetup: the venue for the meetup is located in this area, as well as the Restaurant 2.
Arriving at CERN
When arriving, come to CERN and go to the reception. The reception building is located next to the main public transport stop and a car parking space available to visitors.
At the reception you will get a visitor entrance badge which allows you to come on site.
Local organisers will be there to help you if you have questions.
If you have registered for a visit, this will be as well the meeting point from where we will be starting the tours. More information about the exact meeting times will be published at a later date.
If you're not joining the guided tours, you can take the opportunity to visit the Science Gateway exhibitions, located in the same building.
Meetup venue
The event will take place in building 31, close the the CERN Data Centre, 3rd floor, in the IT Auditorium.Signs will be setup to guide you to the location.
The campus is well defined in tools like CERN maps or Google Maps, you will easily find your way around.
Restaurants
There are two restaurants on site where you can buy drinks or food. The closest is Restaurant 2, which is just across the road. You can pay there by credit card or Swiss Franks (CHF). Euros are accepted as well.
