We are organizing an open session on Friday, May 31st, to discuss current and future prospects for the US in heavy-ion physics. The day will include topical talks on physics and future detectors from ALICE-USA members and invited experts from outside experiments and theory.
Confirmed speakers and topics (more to be confirmed):
Marco Van Leeuwen (Nikhef): Future prospects for ALICE
Yen-Jie Lee (MIT): Prospects for jet measurements
Jiangyong Jia (Stony Brook): Outlook for measurements of fluctuations and correlations
Constantin Loizides (ORNL): Physics prospects from the FoCal detector upgrade
Lijuan Ruan (BNL): Extracting temperature with di-leptons and quarkonia
Raju Venugopalan (BNL): EIC/HI Physics Synergies
Peter Steinberg (BNL): Prospects for measurements in UPC collisions
Bianka Mecaj (Yale): Theoretical outlook for jet substructure
